Inquiries are directed to the Genealogy Department by mail, by phone or by individuals on a walk-in basis. Inquiries have come from many of the United States and from several foreign countries. Answering an inquiry usually requires a search of one or more of the various indexes. A few of the inquiries received result in no information available concerning those requests. Inquiries for which there is information in the records of this office will be answered. In many cases, the party making the inquiry learns something, often about a member of his or her family, which he never knew before. To be able to supply such information and, in many instances, seeing the pleasure this brings to the parties who make inquiries with us gives a great sense of satisfaction and pride in the extent of the holdings of this office.
