The Traffic Department processes all tickets given by Louisiana State Police (Troop A, Headquarters and Department of Public Safety), East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State University Police, and Southern University Police. The department prepares the Traffic Docket weekly for the Court, stores all Traffic minutes and houses all Traffic Bills when case is closed.

All dispositions are submitted electronically to the Department of Motor Vehicles and all statistics are forwarded to the Supreme Court.
